AUDIO: AGAIN WITH THE AIRLINE THREATS: THIS TIME, DELTA

A family from California was threatened with jail time and then booted off an oversold Delta flight last week for refusing to give up a seat they paid for. An eight-minute YouTube video shows employees telling passenger Brian Schear that he and his entire family will be tossed behind bars if they didn’t get off the flight from Maui to L.A. back on April 23. Delta employees wanted to give the extra seat Schear originally purchased for his son – who caught an earlier flight home – to a standby passenger. But the Schears wanted to keep the seat and fill it with one of their two toddlers, who’d be placed in a car seat. The flight attendant was insistent that the family’s plans were against Federal Aviation Administration rules, and that the child had to sit on one of his parents’ laps because he’s two years or younger. That’s FAA regulations. The family eventually got off the plane and booked another flight home for the next day.
* OK, science, it’s time to get the Teleporters working so we can bypass these stupid airlines.
* From now on when flying, instead of pressing the flight attendant call button, just shout out, “Hey, Warden!”

* This is when we start to realize that there’s a steady stream of these things but it took United to bring it to our attention.
* Frankly, I’m glad we’re moving away from that phony corporate friendliness and getting real about it.
* Of course, threatening this family with prison time might not be the way to go either.
* At this point if I go on a flight and I don’t see a passenger getting dragged down the aisle I feel cheated.
* Hassling customers so they sue is the airlines’ new game and it’s called “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?”
