KANSAS CITY CATHOLIC CHURCH DUMPS THE GIRL SCOUTS

The Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas is severing ties with the Girl Scouts. Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann said in a statement that Girl Scouts is “no longer a compatible partner in helping us form young women with the virtues and values of the Gospel.” He asks the pastors of the Archdiocese to transition away from hosting Girl Scout troops and start launching American Heritage Girls troops. American Heritage Girls, founded in 1995, is “a Christ-centered character development program for girls ages 5 to 18.” Fine. But then, this: Archbishop Naumann also called for an end to Girl Scout cookie sales in the archdiocese.
* And yea, God did smite the Archbishop, for He did so love His annual Thin Mints and Samoas.
* Sorry girls, the mean old man doesn’t want you in his church. See you in church on Sunday!
* American Heritage Girls? I thought those were the dolls that you can make look just like your daughter?
* What did the Girls Scouts do that was bad? Offer a merit badge for Satan Worshiping?
* Maybe the Kansas City Girl Scouts can form an affiliation with the local witches coven.
* You know, all these poor little girls want to do is earn badges and go do fun stuff. Can’t we leave politics and religion out of at least one thing?

* I’m not sure the Archbishop has thought this through. Now that eating Girl Scout cookies is bad, they’ll just taste better than ever.
