AUDIO: UBER WANTS TO TEST FLYING CARS IN THREE YEARS
Uber Technologies is now talking about a network of flying cars. The ride-hailing company has plans to start testing vehicles that can take off and land vertically within three years, by 2020. The San Francisco company said it’s partnering with a handful of aircraft manufacturers and real estate firms to achieve their goals.
* Who’s going to be the first to vomit in the back seat of an Uber cab?
* This is great, ’cause now we can burn through the remaining oil deposits even quicker.
* Plus, terrorists in suicide vests won’t be bothered by those pesky ground-based barricades.
* First, let’s wait and see if Uber is still here in three years.
* Want the numbers? The company lost $2.8 billion last year.
* On the other hand their bookings doubled to $20 billion from the year before.
* Man, imagine the taxi drivers out there losing 20 billion worth of business in a year. They’re going to be more psycho than ever.
* This will be great. Now you won’t have to wait for your plane to crash. You can have your aviation accident on the way to the airport.
CLIP: A good snazzy recording of The Jetsons theme song.
