ADIDAS EMAILS DISTURBING MESSAGE TO ALL BOSTON MARATHON RUNNERS

The Adidas company is under fire after sending out a mass email to all the Boston Marathon participants. The subject line: “Congrats, you survived the Boston Marathon!” The email opened into an advertisement urging runners to buy Boston Marathon gear. It was just 4 years ago, of course, when two bombs were exploded in the crowd near the finish line, killing three and injuring hundreds. Adidas issued an apology: “We are incredibly sorry. Clearly, there was no thought given to the insensitive email subject line we sent Tuesday. We deeply apologize for our mistake.”
* “Clearly, this campaign blew up in our face.”
* “P.S. – to show how sorry we are, take an extra 10% off all Adidas footwear!”
* Sneaker company really stepped in it this time.
* Said the president of United Airlines, “Thank you, Adidas!”
* Time for Adidas to bring back the focus groups.
* The key phrase in what went wrong is “no thought given.”
* Of course, the next question is why not?
* I mean you’re about to email everyone who ran in that race and you’re not putting any thought into it?
* You know what’s really sad? When you think about how much the Adidas emailer makes a year just to screw this up.
