MCDONALD'S MANAGER BUSTED IN RETURNED BIG MAC SCAM
A Greenfield, Wisconsin, McDonald’s manager is facing a felony theft charge after being accused of stealing thousands of dollars from her employer by issuing fake refunds on Big Macs, then pocketing the cash. Mary Ruelle is accused of stealing money from the franchise location from mid-January to March 24. Allegedly, Ruelle would select food items that had been sold at the location that day and issue refunds using a special code. To maximize the amount of cash refunded, she chose higher-ticket items like Big Macs. Normally, refunds issued at McDonald’s are just a couple of dollars but the supervisor noticed something was off when refunds were coming in as high as $200. In all Ruelle stole $3,827.17 – the equivalent of 1,071 returned Big Macs. If convicted, the former manager faces up to a year and a half in prison or up to $10,000 in fines.
* Like she’ll be able to pay the $10,000 fine working at McDonald’s.
* From Big Macs to the Big House.
* Maybe her cellmate will be the Hamburglar.
* She can be called the Hambezzler.
* As fast-food crimes go, this was a Whopper.
* And what American ever returns a Big Mac? Have you seen the size of our butts?
* That’s not only a paper trail – it’s a paper trail with a grease stain on it.
* That’s a strange confluence of strategies: You’re going to game the system but you’re going to do it as a manager at McDonald’s.
* With her morals I’m glad she didn’t make it to Wall Street.
* Here’s a little know fact: This is how Al Capone got his start in the crime business.
* Sounds like Mary Ruelle saw the McDonald’s corporation as a co-business partner with her.
