FORD MAKES BABY CRIB TO SIMULATE CAR RIDE
The Ford Motor Company has teamed with a Spanish creative studio to create the Ford Max Motor Dreams, a baby crib that simulates the motion, sounds, and lighting of a nighttime drive to help fussy babies drift off to sleep. The crib comes with a smartphone app that can customize the simulation in ways including tilting the bed to simulate turns, adjusting the amount of traffic noise and even providing the sound of rain and windshield wipers. Like all good things, only one of the cribs has been made so far, but the company said it is considering putting the cribs into mass production after an outpouring of international interest.
* An expensive motorized crib that simulates a car? You mean like that $10 noise machine you can buy at Walmart?
* Well worth the expense for those three times you’re going to need it.
* When you see the price tag, you’ll want to climb in, too.
* The hard part is hauling it to the gas station for a fill-up.
* Being a Ford, they’d probably have to recall it because of engine fires.
* So it’s not just Hollywood – the whole world has run out of good ideas then.
* Oh well … I’d rather have a car company making cribs than a crib company making cars.
* It will also get the babies used to the driver-less car concept.
* Next up: mandatory crib insurance.
* The had me until they mentioned the smartphone app. That’s when I knew the idea was a failure.
