FRIENDS STAGE FAKE PROPOSAL TO GET FREE DESSERT

Two Texas teens, 19-year-old Cati Domitrovich and 17-year-old Alex Nagel, scammed a complimentary dessert by staging a fake proposal at an upscale restaurant. It happened back on March 26. Domitrovich and Nagel decided they needed a fancy meal to cheer themselves up after a bad week. They acted like a couple throughout the dinner. Then, at the end of the meal, Domitrovich left the table for the restroom, and Nagle informed the server of his “plans to propose.” He even asked her to stick around to take photos. When Domitrovich came back, Nagle got down on his knee and popped the question – and of course Domitrovich said yes. Everyone around them clapped. And then, the waitress brought a congratulatory plate of dessert, along with the word “congratulations” written directly on the platter in chocolate sauce. The duo would like to pull of the stunt again at other restaurants in the area, although they say they’re a bit nervous that people might catch on.
* And sue them.
* Now the restaurant owners need a fancy meal to cheer themselves up.
* As scams go, it’s not exactly “Now You See Me”, but whatever.
* 19 and 17? And nobody in the restaurant yelled “Don’t do it! You’re too young!!!”
* Boy, how deep is this schmuck in the Friend Zone, when he’s just “faking” a relationship with a chick for the dessert?
* Before I pass judgement here I want to know exactly what kind of dessert it was.
* Of course, in the romantic comedy version they get caught so they go on to be married and live happily ever after.
* Now they’re throwing a wedding reception just so they can have some wedding cake.
* A fake proposal? You mean like the healthcare bill?
* The restaurants in Texas are fighting back. The new custom is that anyone who proposes has to buy the house a round.
* PHONE TOPIC: “I Once Faked It.” Who did you once scam?
