ALASKAN BOY WINS SMELLIEST SNEAKER CONTEST

An Alaska boy has won – and that’s not quite the right word here – the title of “Smelliest Sole” at the Odor-Eaters 42nd National Rotten Sneaker Contest. Connor Slocombe was awarded with the golden sneaker trophy for his ripe New Balance sneakers at the annual smelly sneaker competition at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Times Square in New York City. In addition to the Golden Sneaker trophy, Slocombe was awarded $2,500, an additional two night stay in New York to attend a Broadway show, a spot in the “Hall of Fumes” and a supply of Odor-Eaters. The competitors are chosen from local competitions around the country and their sneakers are judged on odor, condition and each child’s description of why their sneakers are stinkiest.
* The smelliest shoe contest is held in New York? How can they tell?
* Let’s all be thankful he lives in Alaska.
* They say his shoes smell like he stepped in Sitka.
* Let’s hope he didn’t wear the sneakers to the Broadway play.
* You know your sneakers are getting funky when they make your feet burn.
* Plus you leave stain marks on the asphalt.
* His sneakers smelled so bad in Alaska that Russia called to complain.
* His shoes smelled so bad that they actually put off a breeze.
