AUDIO: WHEEL OF FUGITIVE

The Brevard County, Florida, Sheriff’s Department has a thing called “Wheel of Fugitive”. Every week, Sheriff Wayne Ivey posts a new episode on Facebook. He spins the wheel of mugshots, and a new fugitive is singled out for attention – based on the luck of the spin. The “Wheel of Fugitive” has caught numerous fugitives – with some even turning themselves in. Ivey said that a lot of times their family turns them in after they’ve watched the Wheel.
* Which can lead to a Family Feud.
* I bet most people would turn in a family member, if The Price is Right.
* So, they arrest the guy, and immediately the D.A. says, “Let’s Make a Deal”.
* After they get caught by the Wheel of Fugitive, they move on to a chance at the Revolving Door of Justice.
* Most of these guys are not Smarter Than a Fifth Grader.
* But they can’t charge them because of – Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me — Double Jeopardy!
* And THAT is the name of that tune.
* When they arrest them, do they throw them in the back of a police Van o’ white?
* Maybe Tommy Lee Jones should have tried this in that “Fugitive” movie.
* See, this has always been my theory: Turn mundane things into games of chance.
* That way there’s more fun for everyone. Well, everyone but the guy who gets caught.
* It’s like with federal taxes. Wouldn’t it be better if one in a million taxpayers won some sort of lottery prize?
* That way people would be saying, “I can’t wait until April 15th gets here.”
