MOM PULLS GUN IN SCHOOL DROP-OFF ZONE
(Note: Apologies to our Texas Morning Sidekick affiliates. We love you, and America loves Texas!) A mother dropping off her child at Deer Park Elementary in Deer Park, Texas, last Thursday morning had a problem with the way another mom was driving. The first mom got out and told the other one, “You’re speeding in a school zone, you almost ran me over once, you need to start doing better.” The second mom pulled out a gun and said, “Back off.” Both of the moms’ children were in their respective cars at the time of the incident. No one was injured and the gun was not fired. Police were called to the scene but no arrests were made because, you know … Texas.
* Ladies, ladies! Come on! You’re acting like a couple of 10th graders!
* I thought “Pistol Packin’ Mama” was just a song?
* It’s supposed to be just a song, anyway.
* That’s the way it is in Texas. Your kid packs a lunch, you pack heat.
* It’s the only place where body armor is recommended at the PTA meetings.
* The second mom didn’t have a gun ’cause she just moved there and doesn’t get it.
* Why bring a gun to a school drop-off? Hey, you never know when you might be attacked by a crackhead crossing guard.
* What do they do when they have a fender bender? Start throwing grenades?
* I think the mom with the gun over-reacted. Every one on board with that?
* But, my goodness, what a bad-ass.
* It’s like Eliot Ness used to say about Chicago: “They come at you talking trash about your driving, you come back at them with a gun.”
* That’s not a school crossing guard. That’s the kid version of a federal marshal.
