MIDDLE SCHOOL DEAN PUT OUT A HIT ON A STUDENT

A Florida middle school dean was demoted after an investigation revealed she sought revenge on a student she believed had injured her 8-year-old son. The son’s arm was broken by another boy on December 14 while playing at a bus stop. Investigators say Wende Pendleton-Wicks, an administrator at Nolan Middle School in Sarasota, asked a 15-year-old boy to hurt the boy she believed hurt her son. The hit-boy texted her, saying he would pick up the boy “and drop him.” The dean replied: “Please do.” Pendleton-Wicks later told the 15-year-old not to hurt the child, although she still believes the incident in which her son was hurt was intentional. She was demoted to a floating substitute, and next year, she’ll return as a classroom teacher.
* A floating substitute? That doesn’t sound very stable.
* Of course, she doesn’t sound very stable either.
* So let me get this straight: She tried to recruit a minor to inflict punishment on another minor? And she’s still a teacher?
* Teachers. They take care of their own. Like the Mafia.
* And just because you call it off doesn’t make a damn bit of difference.
* I’m so behind the times. When did middle schools get deans?
* Now here’s an oldie from The Strawbs – “You Can’t Get Me, I’m Part of the Union.”
