MAN FALLS THROUGH ICE INTO MANURE PIT
A Freeport, Minnesota, man was hospitalized after the skid loader (a Bobcat-style vehicle, looks like a mini front-end loader) that he was driving fell through ice that covered an old manure pit on his property Tuesday afternoon. 46-year-old Duane Herzog was driving the machine when it cracked through the thin ice and became completely submerged. Herzog became trapped in the cab, where he remained until rescue crews were able to remove him. He was transported by air ambulance to a hospital.
* Are they sure it wasn’t attempted sewercide?
* Skid loader was also the name of his underpants when he heard that ice crack.
* He got himself into deep doo-doo.
* Great, we finally get a band out of Minnesota to replace Prince and it’s the Skid Loaders.
* What do you bet that every summer he says, “You know one of these days I’ve got to do something about that manure pit.”
* For this man the incident was all too real, but what a great metaphor for rest of us.
* I feel like I’m skidding along on thin ice over a manure pit every day.
* He was transported by air ambulance? Let’s hope they had one of those containers for patients that hang outside the cab.
