STUDENT SUES COLLEGE, CLAIMING IT ALLOWED HIM TO GET DRUNK AND HIT PEOPLE

A man convicted of randomly punching fellow students at Endicott College in Massachusetts three years ago is now suing the school, claiming it was lax in enforcing underage drinking laws. Dillon DeStefano, now 22, cited Massachusetts’ social host liability law. In February of 2014, DeStefano randomly punched three students without provocation. One student suffered a broken and dislocated jaw that needed to be wired shut. A second victim had a shattered orbital bone and sinus cavity, while a third student had a split lip. DeStefano, who blamed alcohol and performance-enhancing drugs for the assaults, was paroled last year after being sentenced to four years in jail. He is filing his lawsuit just as the statute of limitations is set to expire.
* Ah, the classic Douchebag Defense: “By not acting, you made me do this.”
* If you learn nothing else in college these days, you learn that nothing is your fault.
* What he’s really after is to get back his deposit on the keg.
* If this doesn’t work, he’ll sue his throat for swallowing the booze and drugs.
* A broken jaw and shattered skull bones? Well, at least he got his money’s worth from the steroids.
* Enforcing underage drinking laws at colleges? We don’t have nearly enough prison cells for that.
* I hope this clown gets schooled.
* This is a ridiculous lawsuit so of course he has a chance to win.
* Maybe he’ll get one of those so-called judges Trump keeps talking about.
* Clearly he’s been talking to one of those prison lawyer-inmate types.
* The important thing is that he’s accepting complete responsibility.
