TRUMP'S MAR-A-LAGO RESORT DOUBLES INITIATION FEE

The Trump Organization’s Mar-a-Lago resort has doubled its initiation fee to $200,000 following Donald Trump’s election as president. The resort had been weighing an increase for some time. The initiation fee for Mar-a-Lago had been $100,000 since 2012, when it was cut from $200,000. The reduction came following a decline in memberships after the Bernie Madoff scandal, which claimed many wealthy Palm Beach victims. On top of the initiation fee, members pay $14,000 a year in dues and have to spend at least $2,000 a year on food. The timing could raise questions about whether the Trump Organization is cashing in on its founder’s ascension to the White House. (* Ya think?) Trump, who has spent a lot of time at Mar-a-Lago, is expected to use his favorite resort as a winter retreat away from DC and New York.
* $200,000, plus $14,000 a year in dues and $2,000 in food? Jeeze, it’s a country club, not two NFL season tickets.
* $2,000 a year in food! Whoa – let’s not go all Chick-fil-a here.
* But look at what you get for your $200,000: a nice round of golf and banana smeared on your car.
* This is shocking because Trump-related stuff is usually so subtle.
* So – are you blue or red? Did they just DOUBLE the initiation fee, or RETURN it to what it was before?
* During his inauguration speech, he said Americans were in charge again. So I’m lowering the initiation fee to 10 bucks.
* Doubling the fees? Maybe that’s what he meant when he said torture works.
* Naa, to this crowd, an extra 100 grand is like a tip.
