AUDIO: HOTEL GUESTS LEAVE TARANTULA
It’s always sad when someone leaves a pet behind. At a hotel in Puyallup (pyew-AL-up), Washington, someone left behind a tarantula. A female Chilean rose hair tarantula was found in a tank in an empty room. The hotel, which requested not to be named in fear of negative publicity, said the guests who left the tarantula were from out of state. Local Metro Animal Services was called. They tried to reach out to the last person who was in the hotel, but didn’t receive a response.
* Then the tarantula tried to reach out to them, so they had to kill it.
* Did they try finding the owners on the web?
* “Did you remember to pack the tarantula?” “I thought it was your job to remember the tarantula.” Happens all the time.
* Taking a tarantula on vacation? Do they even know when they’re in a different city?
* On the bright side, the room has no more bed bugs.
* In about a month they’re going to find the owners’ bodies are wrapped in spider silk and tucked up into the ceiling.
* It was female so now it’s just a matter of the eggs hatching and taking over the town.
* A Chilean rose hair tarantula? I’ve seen the hair on a tarantula and I wouldn’t call it “rose hair.”
* In fact I wonder how they find each other attractive enough to mate.
* So you’re working away at your hotel housekeeping job and it basically sucks. And that’s before you find the tarantula.
* Sometimes there’s no need for a “Do Not Disturb” sign.
