CHASE SUSPECT THREW CHAINSAWS AT COPS

Police in Lufkin, Texas have a man in custody who was involved in an hour-long chase that involved eight law enforcement agencies, covered three counties, and included chainsaws being tossed at an officer by the fleeing driver. Authorities say 27-year-old Richard Kay finally was caught after troopers shot out two of his tires and the radiator of his pickup truck. The chase, with speeds reaching 100 mph, started late Sunday afternoon in Lufkin when police tried to pull Kay over for speeding. Police say that at one point he threw chainsaws, believed to have been stolen in a home burglary, at a sheriff’s deputy. Kay told authorities he’d taken methamphetamine and prescription drugs. He’s now facing multiple charges.
* Texas … chainsaws … where’s the massacre?
* I have to ask: how many chain saws? A boxful? A sackful?
* Tell me the chainsaws weren’t running when he threw them.
* It’s not good to throw chainsaws at police during a getaway. If you’re going 100 mph, you need to keep both hands on the wheel.
* I guess the saying is true: They do it bigger in Texas.
* Relax, this stuff happens every year once the Dallas Cowboys start training camp.
* Sounds like Richard Kay is not Okay.
* If you’re stupid enough to speed after robbing a house, you deserve what happens.
* That’s damn convenient having Kay as a last name. He can use it as a new bride in prison.
* Well, at least we know he didn’t take bath salts … because he didn’t try and bite the chain saws.
