In Carlisle, England, a burglar was caught by a dog doo shoeprint at the scene of the crime. Back in August, a couple noticed that their shed door was left open. They also found a lawn chair placed underneath their window sill. Investigators noticed a shoe print on the sill, and whoever left it had stepped in dog feces. Investigators noted that there were piles of it throughout the yard. Police were able to match the shoeprint to shoes worn by Brian Harold, 20, who had been a suspect in several local burglaries. In court last week, Harold pleaded guilty to the attempted burglary, and also admitted three counts of theft. He was given 18-month community service as punishment.
* I hope that includes pooper scooping.
* You really stepped in it now, buster.
* Please tell me he cleaned his shoes for court.
* This isn’t exactly why they say “to detract burglars, get a dog,” but it’ll do. Dog do, as it were.
* Great. Now those homeowners will NEVER clean up the poop.
