COLLEGE FINALS DE-STRESSERS

It’s not enough to go to class, study hard, and take a final exam any more. Colleges these days have to offer some sort of “de-stresser” to today’s (gulp) “young adults”:
– At the University of Pennsylvania students can take part in a Zumba class, a video game stress reliever, and a “Chocolate and Chocolate Labs”.
– The University of Illinois offers students a “Reading Day.”
– Penn State’s “De-Stress Fest” included origami folding, Wii gaming, and “brain massage music”.
– The University of Michigan offers Play-Doh, glitter bottles, Legos and dominos.
– At Temple University, the Student Activities group put together an all-inclusive “camping” event called Camp TU. Students can enjoy zip-lining, scaling a rock wall, or watching the movie “Anchorman.”
* Play-Doh or, barring that, some Sloppy Joe from the cafeteria.
* Remember – if you have an old Fisher Price Baby Busy Box laying around, please donate it to the college of your choice.
* “Mom, Dad – I got a D in Chemistry, but I got an A+ in fingerpainting!”
* “Anchorman” – great idea. That way, in the middle of an essay test, all you can think of is “Skyrockets in flight / Afternoon delight…” (see clip)
* De-stressers. So college kids aren’t getting laid these days?
* Now they have the extra stress of trying to pick the right de-stresser.
* We already had a de-stresser when I went to college. It was called “a keg.”
* There was also a back-up de-stresser called “a bong.”
* The University of Illinois offers a reading day? It’s college. Aren’t you supposed to be reading every day?
CLIP: A bit of “Afternoon Delight” from Anchorman.
