STARBUCKS LOOSENS BARISTA DRESS CODE

Starbucks is relaxing the dress code for its baristas. They’ll still have to wear the green apron, but the new dress code goes beyond the traditional requirement that all clothes be black, white and khaki. Now, Starbucks is allowing additional shades including navy, gray and brown. Jeans in darker washes and hues are also allowed. Another notable change is regarding hair color. Starbucks had banned unnatural hair colors like pink or purple. Now, the restaurant chain says however you wear your hair is ok, although it can’t have glitter, sprays or other temporary products (for food safety reasons). Starbucks is also allowing employees to wear a fedora, bowler, and plain baseball caps, as long as they are in the approved color palette.
* They’re adding the new shades of navy, gray and brown? Whoa! Stop dazzling us with the wild colors!
* Fedoras and bowlers, just in case you need a further reason to want to punch your smug barista.
* Way to loosen up the corporate chains, Starbucks.
* Don’t kid yourself: Having a job at Starbucks still sucks. That part hasn’t changed.
* I love watching these big companies try to stay relevant.
* It reminds me of when a fast food burger chain adds fruit to the menu.
