“Created by the National Urban League, Equal Opportunity Day – also known as Dedication Day and Gettysburg Address Day – commemorates the day Abraham Lincoln delivered the Gettysburg Address, in which he painted the Civil War not only as being about the Union but being about human equality as well. It has been observed annually on November 19th since 1956.”
HAVE A BAD DAY DAY
The Holiday Insights website says this:
“Have a Bad Day Day is today … isn’t this just wonderful? As we began to research this day, we expected to find that this day was intended to recognize that everybody has a bad day once in a while. Au Contrare!!!! Believe it or not, Have a Bad Day Day was created to encourage us to wish people to have a bad day. The intent is to have sales people stop saying to their customers “Have a good day”, and replace it with “Have a bad day”. So, in keeping with the intent of this day, we hope you Have a Bad Day!!”

THE BUZZHOW TO KEEP YOUR KID FROM THROWING A TANTRUM AT THE STORE
A mother on TikTok shared a tip for keeping your kid from throwing a tantrum at the store. In a video, the woman’s daughter is shown holding a tub of candy. Mom asks, “Did you want that?” Her daughter nods enthusiastically, and Mom says, “Would you like me to put it on your birthday list?” “Yeah!” her daughter replies. “Alright, put it back so I can take a picture.” The little girl places the tub of candy back on the shelf, and Mom snaps a picture. She says that the pictures go into a ‘Gift List,’ and then when their birthday or Christmas comes up, and family or friends are asking what they want, you’ve got a whole list of pictures of things that your kids have actually told you they want.
* So all you need is a camera, and the ability to lie convincingly.
* Well THAT’S easier than simply denying that the child is yours, which my mom used to do.
* Good. Now, what do you do when the kid starts screaming “But I want it NOW! NOW, NOW, NOW, NOW, NOW!!!
* This works for adults, too. My wife has a ton of pictures of me holding a bottle of booze in the liquor store. “We’ll tell Santa you want one,” she says.
* PHONE TOPIC: Have you got a similar life hack for keeping your kid from throwing a tantrum?
THE ROLLS-ROYCE OF TURKEYS
Would you buy a $300 turkey? Sure, what else do you have to spend money on? It’s called the “KellyBronze” turkey. The Times of London calls it the “Rolls-Royce of turkeys.” Most turkeys are selling for $1.36 per pound this year; this one sells for $13 a pound and up meaning that a large turkey can cost well over $300. According to the farm in Virginia where they come from, the KellyBronze is a slow-grower, and they roam freely outdoors with plenty of room, eating corn and soy milled fresh on the farm. The secret is their age. The birds are about 6 months old when they’re slaughtered, about twice as old as your average turkey. Farmer Paul Kelly, who sells them and would have absolutely no reason to exaggerate, says, “It has a more distinctive turkey flavor, as it used to taste.” They expect to sell 3,400 Thanksgiving turkeys this year, up from 2,200 last year.
* How are they slaughtered? Is the “Rolls-Royce of turkeys” run over with a Rolls-Royce?
* We serve the “Used Hyundai of turkeys” at my house.
* If my mom cooked a $300 turkey, she’d kill anyone who’d try to put gravy on it.
* Looks like Biden’s “soak the rich” idea is trickling down.

WOMAN SHARES BOTTLE OF VODKA BECAUSE SHE COULDN’T TAKE IT ON THE PLANE
A woman flying out of Miami International Airport was informed she couldn’t bring her bottle of vodka through airport security because it contained more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) of fluid. What to do… what to do… Well, she passed around the bottle and fellow passengers glugged a few shots. A video of the incident has gone viral on TikTok and shows user @latinnbella and fellow passengers passing around a bottle of vodka before going through the airport security line.
* These days, it takes a few belts to get on a plane. Ask any pilot.
* TSA was screaming, “No, you’re supposed to just leave it with us!!”
* It’s an easy mistake. That 3.4 ounce limitation on liquids has only been around since 2006.
* Years from now, scientists will determine that this event was ground zero for the COVID variant Omicron that finally took out all of humanity, but, gee, what a cool thing for this lady to do.

CROOKS STEAL FILM EQUIPMENT FROM HEIST MOVIE
A heist movie about to shoot in Winnipeg, Canada this week was delayed when someone stole all the film equipment. A film crew is in Winnipeg to shoot “Vandits,” a film about a teenagers trying to “pull off a ridiculous heist,” according to the movie’s description. But the truck and trailer with all of their equipment disappeared from where it had been parked Monday morning, before cameras could start rolling. Said director Stu Stone, “The irony is not lost on us.”
* The irony WAS lost on the insurance company that has to replace the stuff.
* Now they can fire the cast and just make a documentary.
* The movie sounds like a crime against cinema anyway.
* Not the worst thing that’s happened on a movie set this year.
TWO AMERICANS FINED FOR BREAKING INTO THE COLOSSEUM
Two American tourists have been fined after breaking into the Colosseum in Rome. The two men, aged 24 and 25, climbed onto the second tier of the monument in the early hours of Monday morning. They were spotted at about 5:30 am, drinking beer, by a passerby who alerted police. It is unclear how they managed to enter the monument, which closes to the public at 4:30 pm. Officers fined them $900 (€800) for illegally entering the archaeological site. No damage was caused.
* How could they tell? “Hey, Luigi, did that stone bench have that crack in it yesterday?”
* What do you mean, how’d they break in? The thing is all windows!
* Gentlemen – a large sports arena is no place to enjoy a beer with your friend.
* Beer at 5:30 am. Long night, or getting an early start on the day?
* They got off easy. Usually, Italian officials feed American criminals to the lions.

He says he had a day off in Vegas between tour stops, “and the Georgia Bulldogs were playing at, like, 12 noon. I wanted to play a few hands of Blackjack, and then I wanted to go stop and sit at a bar and watch my Georgia Bulldogs play.” When he got to the table, it was already 11:30. “I know I don’t have much time, and I sit down and I won 14 hands in a row and I won $60,000 in 14 hands. I did not mean to win that much money,” Bryan emphasizes. “I just, it happened. I sat down and the first card, I just started winning. I think it was six total minutes. I won 60 grand, I got up and then I just went and watched my Georgia Bulldogs.”
